When I'm asked to write an outline, I tend to run the gamut and go with either an outline that's a year long or one that's four or five pages. In this case, the introduction, middle, and conclusion are presented, but it's not just one large paragraph; it is five or six very small paragraphs with no introduction or conclusion. There are a few exceptions, and a four-year framework can include everything from an historical essay to a career profile essay.One paragraph format - the outline for a one-paragraph essay is always shorter than a four-year structure.
